Understanding self & others - TA 101 An introduction course to Transactional Analysis for anyone interested in understanding and developing themselves, understanding others and the relationships between ourselves and others.
It is useful for continuing professional development for anyone in the helping professions.
The 'TA 101' workshop is also the official introduction to Transactional Analysis and a necessary requirement if you wish to train further in TA Psychotherapy.
The next workshop dates are:
(1) Saturday 12/Sunday 13 February 2011 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. (each day)
(2) Saturday 21/Sunday 22 May 2011 10a.m. - 5 p.m. (each day)
at the peaceful and relaxing venue of Llwyn-yr-eos, Rhydlewis. The workshop includes a comprehensive workbook. Lunch is provided using locally sourced produce. The cost of this 2-day workshop is £120.
We will also be organising four half days in Aberystwyth (dates to be announced). Because the rent of the venue has to be included, the cost of these will be slightly higher. Dates and cost to be confirmed.
Professional Development:
Foundation Year – although this is the first year of training towards the qualification of Certified Transactional Analyst, it stands in its own right as Continuing Professional Development or Self-development.
The Foundation Year consists of 10 weekends (Sat & Sun) during which time you will be extending your understanding and knowledge of TA. A certificate will be issued on completion of course requirements. The cost for the Foundation Year is £1000 for 10 week ends. There are reasonable B+B within easy reach of here.
The start date for the Foundation Year is September 2011. The entry requirement to the Foundation Year is usually completion of the TA101. ITA 101 Certificates from other training establishments are valid here.
Psychotherapy & Counselling Training:
At The West Wales Institute we provide the opportunity for people to train as psychotherapists and counsellors. The training courses are part-time and flexible, leading to national qualifications. On completion of the 1st year (Foundation), trainees move into the 2nd year (Advanced) training. The cost for each advanced training year is £1200 for 10 week-ends. Our aim is to enable people to train to become competent practitioners who adhere by the ethical and professional guidelines of the Institute of Transactional Analysis, UKCP and BACP.
